| KITE
TIPS |
Your new kite will weather. To avoid excessive wear and tear keep
your kite out of extreme conditions. |
It is not safe to fly your kite in poor weather conditions. It
might hurt you or get your kite wet, which leads to fading. |
Don't run with your kite, it may not be windy enough and trying
to create your own wind may wear you or your kite out! |
Electricity of any kind is dangerous to fly your kite around.
Avoid power lines and bad weather. |
In
general, the larger you kite, the easier it is it fly! |
You should always have a 360 degree clearance. There shouldn't
be obstacles around you in any direction for the same distance
as length of your string. |
BOOGIE® BOAT KITE TIPS
[boogie boat instruction sheet] |
Boogies® fly best in 10 - 15 MPH wind.
Bigger Boogies® like bigger winds!
|
|
|
The bridle is the string that comes attached to your Boogie®.
The other string attaches to your bridle. |
|
|
If your Boogie® isn't flying, you may
want to move your attached string along the bridle toward the
bow as in photo 2 above. |
BUTTERFLY KITE TIPS
[butterfly kite instruction sheet] |
Butterflies soar best in 5 - 10 MPH wind. |
Gain altitude quickly. When the butterfly reaches about 40 feet
it becomes more stable.
|
 |
The balance point is key. If you attach the line at a higher point
on the butterfly, your kite will not gain altitude, but will be
easier to fly. If you attach the line at a lower point on your
kite, it will gain altitude but be trickier to maneuver. |
