Kiteboard

The kiteboard took its design inspiration from the surfboard. In fact, some people still use the surfboard to perform this sport. However, doing so does have a few disadvantages. For example, they do not have foot straps. As a result, they do not have so high of a jump capability.

There are a few different things from  which a kiteboard may be made. For instance, foam could be used as well as wood or a composite material. In addition to the different materials used, there are also different construction styles available for use.

For example, a kiteboard may be created in a directional surf style. It may also more resemble a wakeboard. Between these two choices are hybrid options, which can be used in either direction. Of course, this latter option will still usually favor one direction.  A final option is a skim-type board.
