Snow Kite

A snow kite is used for the outdoor winter board sport known as snowkiting. It takes inspiration as far as kites and techniques go from kitesurfing. At the same time, it minds the footwear favored in snowboarding or skiing. Of course, unlike snowboarding or skiing, snowkiting can go uphill with the right wind.

At earlier points of snow kite history, foil designs were the kites of choice. Today, the same inflatable designs preferred for kitesurfing are also preferred for this sport. Another similarity between snowkiting and kiteboarding is the matter of safety. Both of these sports should be practiced with care as they are incredibly dangerous.

Snow kite excursions are very popular in those same regions which snowboarding and skiing flourish. Examples of such areas span the continents. Iceland, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, France, Austria, Canada, and the Northern U.S. are examples of such places. Creative and adventurous personalities keep pushing the boundaries of the sport as the time goes on. This is in addition to technological developments which continually improve equipment construction.
